Officially, as of December 18, 1998, we DO NOT support KDE, but enough people
have requested it that we will provide a KDE mirror and basic instructions to
install it. The rest is up to the user.

Don Holmgren has mirrored the KDE rpm sources on linux-rep.fnal.gov at the
following location:

ftp://linux-rep.fnal.gov/pub/mirrors/kde/stable/1.0/contrib/distribution/rpm/RedHat-5.1/i386/binary/

These are files and packages you will need to install on Fermi Red Hat Linux
5.0.2 in order for KDE to function:

INSTALL-kde-rh51
README
README-2rh51-2-rpms
README-rh51-rpms
kdeadmin-1.0-5rh51.i386.rpm
kdebase-1.0-7rh51.i386.rpm
kdegames-1.0-5rh51.i386.rpm
kdegraphics-1.0-5rh51.i386.rpm
kdelibs-1.0-7rh51.i386.rpm
kdemultimedia-1.0-7rh51.i386.rpm
kdenetwork-1.0-5rh51.i386.rpm
kdesupport-1.0-7rh51.i386.rpm
kdeutils-1.0-5rh51.i386.rpm
libstdc++-2.8.0-8.i386.rpm
qt-1.41-1rh51.i386.rpm

After downloading these to your machine (preferably a new, clean directory),
as root, type this:

rpm -ivh *.rpm

Complete instructions are in the INSTALL and README files, but the short
version is this:

Add the /opt/kde/bin path to your $PATH.
type 'usekde'
This moves your .Xclients file to .Xclients.orig and creates a new one in
its place, which will start up kde when you log back into your X session.
Log out, and log back in.
